Alfonso Herrera Franyutti (1930-2016)

Alfonso Herrera Franyutti is a Mexican physician and surgeon by training who has devoted much of his career to promoting the ideas and legacy of Martí, particularly through academic exchange and solidarity initiatives outside Cuba. He is the author of several books and studies on José Martí and has been actively engaged with the Center for Martí Studies. He is also one of the founding members of the World Council of the José Martí Project of International Solidarity, an organization dedicated to fostering global cooperation inspired by Martí’s principles.
