The Jury is composed of five independent members of diverse nationalities and genders, appointed by the Director-General for renewable two-year terms, up to a maximum of six years. Its members are internationally recognized experts in fields relevant to the Prize and are selected to ensure regional and gender balance, in line with the ideals of José MartÃ.
