Pablo González Casanova (1922-2023)

Pablo González Casanova was a Mexican lawyer, sociologist, and historian. He was awarded a Doctorate in sociology by the Sorbonne, and served as rector of the UNAM from 1970 to 1972 and, in 2011, he was elected an honorary member of the Mexican Academy of Language. At the UNAM, he contributed to the founding to the College of Humanities Sciences and the Centre for Latin American Studies with the goal of advancing the growth of science and the ideal of scientific humanism.
