Maximiliano Rabelais Puig Miller is a Dominican politician, lawyer, and professor. Educated at the University of Paris, he later returned to the Dominican Republic to teach, holding the Chair of Sociology of Underdevelopment and contributing to graduate programs in social sciences at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD). He has served his country in the capacities of Congressman, Secretary of State for the Environment, and the Minister of Labour. A founding member of the Alliance for Democracy (APD), which he established in 1992 and later led as president, Puig also ran a presidential campaign in 2012. Alongside his political career, he engages in public debate as a columnist and researcher, writing on issues such as Dominican-Haitian relations and democratic governance.
