Carlos Bojórquez Urzaiz

Carlos Bojórquez Urzaiz — a Doctor of History from the University of Havana — is a Mexican writer, anthropologist, and historian. He was a professor and researcher at his alma mater, the Autonomous University of Yucatán till 2011, having briefly served as the Director of the Faculty of Anthropological Sciences during his time there. Some of Bojórquez’s main works as a writer have focused on the life and thought of José Martí, and have been published in magazines across the Americas. Rooted in Cuban culture, his work is motivated by his search for his own identity and investigation of his birthplace, Yucatan.
