Emir Simão Sader

Emir Sader is a Brazilian sociologist and political scientist widely recognized for his influential work on Latin American politics, the left, and social movements. Educated at the University of São Paulo, he has taught at the institution, the State University of Rio de Janeiro, University of Campinas, and the University of Chile. A prominent Marxist thinker, Sader served as Executive Secretary of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) and chaired the Latin American Sociological Association. Through his enaggement with the New Left Review (NLR), he has written extensively on progressive movements in Latin America.
