Peter Koenig

Peter Koenig is a macroeconomist and geopolitical analyst with over three decades of experience in international development and policy. He has worked with major global institutions including the World Bank, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). His areas of expertise include macroeconomic policy, water resources management, environmental and health systems, and crisis response, particularly in humanitarian contexts. Over the years, he has engaged extensively with debates around the Washington Consensus, structural adjustment programs, dollarization, and more recently, processes of de-dollarization. Koenig is currently a Research Associate with Global Research and is affiliated with the José Martí Institute in Havana.
